The Department of Sciences was established with the main aim to revive and regain students’ interest in areas of pure sciences by providing comprehensive learning in the essential domains of core subjects. The study of pure sciences has enormous scope in research and development in addition to ample job opportunities. Adopting the triple main model, the department currently offers B Sc (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics; Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science) and imparts a strong conceptual foundation through an application approach. The infrastructure in terms of the well-equipped Physics, Chemistry and Computer laboratories go a long way in providing the much needed practical exposure which is embedded in the curriculum resulting in rich experiential learning.
The teaching fraternity of the department comprises well qualified and committed teachers providing individual attention to students. The department maintains a healthy teacher-student ratio of 1:8, ideal for nurturing a scientific bent of mind.
